New Member CPR Certification
All applicants seeking to enroll in an EMT academy, field internship, special operations team, or EMS duty physician program must have an active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR course.
All applicants seeking to enroll in an EMT academy, field internship, special operations team, or EMS duty physician program must have an active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR course.
Members with a current AHA BLS CPR certification looking to recertify should enroll in an AHA BLS CPR Recertification Course through Vector Solutions. Those without an AHA BLS CPR certification, or whose certification has lapsed for more than 30 days must take a New Member CPR Certification course.
New members can sign up for any of the below New Member CPR Certification courses by contacting VBRescue@vbgov.com or calling (757) 385-1999. All classes will take place at The Bruce W. Edwards Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services Headquarters and Training Center (4160 Virginia Beach Blvd.).

Any applicant or member who is a “no call, no show” for a New Member CPR Certification course will need approval from the Brigade Chief of Training to sign up for future courses.
