The Training Division of Emergency Medical Services is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and conducting various emergency medical programs of study for EMS members, public safety officers (firefighters, police officers, communications officers, etc.), hospital personnel, and the general public.Â
Training programs include, but are not limited to, providing initial and continuing education for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), providing continuing education for advanced life support (ALS) providers, and providing initial and continuing education for building block certifications such as CPR, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) and many others.
